Amethysts are naturally occuring stones of the silica (quartz) family. They are pale to strong purple in colour. The name comes from the greek and means "sober" - the stones allegedly promote detoxification and protect from addiction. Our stones are amethyst spinels with a beautiful deep purple colour.

Aquamarines are pale blue stones (usually) from the Beryl family (includes Emeralds). The name means "sea water" and the stones sometimes have a splash of green. Aquamarines are the birthstone for March and are reputed to inspire qualities of courage and protection. These aquas are pale blue spinels.

BlueSpinel These Blue Spinels are a little lighter and brighter than their Sapphire cousins. Cheerful and cheeky ... great in ear-rings.

Rose de France is a bit of a misnomer. Rose de France refers to lavander ( or pale pink/purple ) amethysts - much lighter and more delicate in colour than the most common amethysts. Another member of the quartz family, our selection are spinels in a fabulous "baby girl pink"

Topaz is one of the most beautiful of the "ancient" precious stones. Coloured like the setting sun, this stone is reputed to have many qualities including protection from poison and various ailments and clearsightedness. Revered by the ancient Egyptians as belonging to Ra the sungod, most topaz are yellow/orange although many different colours have now been found.

White spinels are one of the diamond simulants that give great natural sparkle without ( to my eye anyway) the slight "overbright" look of Cubic Zicronia (CZ).
